When an enterprise picks a cross-platform mobile stack, the conversation usually narrows to three options: .NET MAUI, Flutter, and React Native. All three can ship good apps. The right choice for a large organization is rarely about which renders a button fastest. It is about ecosystem fit, talent, code sharing, and total cost of ownership over years. Here is how I frame it.

The one-paragraph summary

If your organization already lives on .NET and C#, .NET MAUI is usually the highest-leverage choice because it shares language, libraries, and often business logic with your backend. Flutter delivers beautiful, highly consistent UI and is a strong pick when design fidelity is paramount and your team is comfortable with Dart. React Native makes the most sense when you have a deep JavaScript and React bench and want web and mobile teams to share skills.

The dimensions that actually matter

Ecosystem and code sharing

This is the big one for enterprises. With .NET MAUI, your mobile app speaks the same language as your ASP.NET Core services, your shared libraries, and frequently your existing desktop apps. That shared backbone means one team can own more of the stack and business rules can be written once.

Flutter and React Native both create a second ecosystem alongside a typical .NET backend (Dart for Flutter, JavaScript or TypeScript for React Native). That is fine, but it is a real organizational cost: another language, another set of build tools, another hiring pipeline.

Talent and hiring

Hire to your strengths. If you employ C# developers, .NET MAUI lets them become mobile developers without learning a new language. If you have a large React web team, React Native lets them cross over. Flutter talent is excellent but a smaller, more specialized pool in many markets.

Native access and performance

All three reach native capabilities and deliver good performance for the vast majority of business apps. Flutter draws its own UI for maximum consistency. .NET MAUI maps to native controls so apps feel native per platform. React Native bridges to native components. For typical line-of-business and customer apps, this difference is a preference, not a blocker.

Web and desktop reach

Total cost of ownership

The cheapest stack over five years is usually the one your team can staff, maintain, and share code with. A technically marvelous framework that your organization cannot hire for is not a bargain.   • Already a .NET shop? Start with .NET MAUI (or Uno if you need web too).
  • Design fidelity above all, team open to Dart? Flutter is a strong contender.
