Manufacturing Uno Platform developmentLegacy modernization

Modernized a legacy WPF desktop tool to Uno Platform, reaching browsers and tablets from the same codebase.

The challenge

A critical internal tool was locked to Windows desktop in WPF. Field and partner teams needed browser and tablet access, but a separate web rewrite would have meant maintaining two codebases and two teams.

What we did

  1. 1

Mapped the WPF app to a staged Uno Platform migration plan, reusing existing C# business logic.

  2. 2

Re-homed the UI on Uno with a shared design system and Skia rendering for visual fidelity.

  3. 3

Added a WebAssembly target so the same codebase ships to the browser, with no separate web team.

  4. 4

Tuned WebAssembly startup and payload size for a responsive first load.

“We went from a Windows-only tool to something our partners can open in a browser, without doubling our team.”
